Thoughts and Goals for 2019

January 29, 2019

Normally my posts have some sort of structure, but today I just want to write what is on my mind and just share. So far today has been a great day… I woke up to seeing snippets of Shawn’s livestream  on Twitter and Maryam Ishtiaq following me on Instagram. I may or may not have screamed when I saw that notification. I mean to have one of my Instagram role models follow me is literally a pinch me moment. Just like when the post from the Shibuya shoot was seen by Nehal Mehra, Hemali Mistry and Hamel Patel. These 4 women are such an inspiration and everyday that I see their content, I am inspired to create content that I am proud, to write blog posts that can make someone smile or motivate them to find what they love and to achieve that just like I have in the last six months or so.

I have my world domination playlist playing right now and the artists in this playlist are strong women who have overcome so much and again inspire me. Also this might be the only playlist on my Spotify that doesn’t have a single Shawn song. I know, shocking.

So as of the title of this blogpost I want to talk about my goals for 2019… 2019 is the year I feel like so much of what is going on is going to set into place. I don’t have anything to complain about (well, except that Shawn hasn’t released Asia dates yet). And everyday I am grateful for everything I have in life. I have a career that I am in love with. I may have said it in my previous post but everyday I go into work I can not believe I’m working in one of the biggest fashion houses in a city which is consider one of the top cities for fashion. Everyday I wake up with a smile, and I get to experiment with my style at work and that is a true blessing for the fashionista in me.  Everyday I am surrounded by people who literally move the fashion world forward and I have honestly learned so much. Besides this, I have been on a kick of watching fashion documentaries and just constantly consuming content about this industry and keeping myself in a creative headspace as much as I can.

Beyond this, my goal for 2019 is to work harder on this blog and my Instagram. I want to be able to commit to this much more, I had let the ball slip a bit in November and December of last year and even a bit in the beginning of this month. But I want to get better.

Above all I just want to say thank you to so many people who constantly put a smile on my face, there are so many but a quick shoutout to my desi girl group on Twitter, and my tour countdown group on Twitter and the two superheroes who run MCI (and put the livestream on Youtube today).

There are so many talented people in those groups that I am in awe of them. All of them beyond being talented are humble and are some of the kindest people I have met on social media and I am extremely thankful for them. I have no words. I am grateful for the music and Shawn, and how he has indirectly connected me to such amazing people. And then I’m so thankful to all my constants, they know who they are. Without them 2018 would not have ended the way it did and 2019 will be so much better.

This is a little rambl-y, but I am so happy today that I thought I’d say how thankful I am for all the people, and all the things I have in my life.
